Who: Roz Reed and David Roberts.
What: David kidnaps Roz. It's for her own good.
When: Saturday evening.
Where: The Reed Ranch, at first.
Warnings: None yet. Who knows.
Just because her uncle didn't want her working didn't mean that Roz was going to stay out of the stables. There wasn't a lot that she could do with one hand, but she didn't have anything better to do, and being around the horses made her about as happy as she could be. Though there was no way that she was going to be riding. The grooms that were under strict orders to report her if she looked like she was even thinking of getting on a horse. Traitors. She still found ways to keep herself amused, even if she was just socializing with the animals.
She'd been out there all afternoon, trying to stay out of the way and not especially succeeding. Since she was the boss, nobody complained, though she could feel them shooting glares at her back. At least this way she was distracted. Roz would have been even more annoying if she'd been trapped inside, though there would have been less people around for her to annoy. All she did when she had time to think was brood on how bored she was, or what she would do when her mother got there, or what to do about David and that whole situation. It was better for her to be somewhat busy, even if she was just in the way.
When the everyone else broke for dinner, she stuck around for a few extra minutes, giving Max all her attention. She didn't usually trust anyone else to run him through is work out, but it was necessary with her out of commission. Roz heard another car pull up outside and didn't think much of it. There were always people coming and going, especially before the sun went down. On a Saturday night, it could have been anyone. One of the ranch hands might have had a hot date or something. She smiled to herself, running her unhurt hand down Max's back. If they thought they were going to get lucky in the loft, then they were out of luck.
