"Thanks, Parker, I..." Natalie glanced down at her bare hands, fiddling with the tape again. "I really do appreciate it. I should put this away, though, I don't think I'll ever get rid of it, I just have to be careful..."
She glanced up again and gave a sheepish laugh. She was babbling again. And that was all Natalie. "I can deal with the demon-sword," she said, "At least I think I can, with help. I think I can learn the self-control. I just hope I never have to use it, you know? This."
She raised her hand as if in pledge that she would never use her power for evil--but at the same time stepping backward almost warily, putting a little extra distance between herself and Parker. She sighed then, dropping her hand to her side. "They tell me there's big trouble brewing," she said, "My dreams do. And I just hope I never have to use this."
