Reincarnate News - May 14

City Mysteriously Appears In New Jersey
Gotham, New Jersey - May 14
by Jane Adams

What satellite photos show as being empty ground only a week ago is now occupied by a city comparable to New York or Chicago. This is no shiny new construction, either. The gritty streets, complete with weathered buildings, high levels of urban decay, and even graffiti in the alleys are evidence of a city that has stood the test of time. Rumors say that this is Gotham City, which residents, local news, and various documents confirm.

The Agency quickly dispatched security and investigative teams to look into the city's sudden appearance. Security Director Nina Khol said that agents have been sent in and that at this time they don't believe the city or its inhabitants pose any threat to the surrounding area. The Agency is asking people to stay out while the investigation continues, however that hasn't stopped curious reincarnates from flocking to tour the area. We caught one curious reincarnate on her way out of the city who had clearly enjoyed the adventure, saying, "I was drunk as hell, but man that s**t was whack."

It's not just a party in Gotham though. Another visitor, Agency intern Jen Hill, was sober and helping with the investigations. "Everything's still very much a mystery to all of us, how it got here, but the Agency's working on that," she said. "Me, personally? I think the reincarnates have a Santa Claus they never knew about!"

For some people it's a gift, and for others it's just a mystery. The search for a cause continues without any results. At the time of this report, it remains unclear whether this is magic, some natural phenomena, or a hoax of unheard of proportions, although the Agency seems to believe that magic is to blame. Jason White, an Agency caretaker aiding the magical side of the investigations, said, "“The reincarnate world is ripe with magical phenomenon. The items that we regularly collect, the fact that we‘re reincarnated ourselves. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that this isn’t just another example of that. We’re in the process of finding out what could have possibly caused this appearance specifically. We ask that everyone be patient until we find those answers. You will know as soon as we do.”

Until we do know, there will be many questions and few answers. Who does this city belong to? Will it stick around? What will be the long term impact of a new East Coast metropolis in the U.S.? Most pressing of all, if this isn't a hoax, the obvious question is, where will be next?
