The teasing was cute and fun, and it warmed Emily to witness it. She may not have known him long, but his pain at having lost Brett had been so clear to her the other night that it was encouraging to see that they guys could still laugh and tease together. She smiled at him, clearly enjoying herself, though she was also keeping an eye on Sarah, who'd plopped herself down near the drums and was looking between the adults with interest.
"Oh, well in that case," Marla said with a laugh at the face Colby made at Connor, though she didn't say anything more on it. John's offer, she could admit to herself, was one she'd hoped for, but it still thrilled her. She noticed the way he looked to Connor, but didn't comment on it. "Well, there are a couple things I'd love to workshop, if y'all have the time for it later," she replied, though she wasn't going to push for it tonight. If they had time, great, but if not? This was supposed to be a fun jam session, and she didn't want to make it work.
Marla laughed at Colby's falsetto, shaking her head. "Oh honey, please spare us and don't do that again," she teased him before looking back at Connor. "But all right, let's see if I can give ya what you're lookin' for." She really wasn't sure if she'd be able to pick up on it with the ease as they'd picked up on hers, but she would do her best.
