Marla felt a little thrill of excitement go through her when Connor so quickly picked up on the song, as she'd hoped he would remember it. As she began singing, she was proud that her voice didn't show that excitement, that it was smooth and in key, although she almost lost it when Connor started backing her up with it. She didn't, though. She just kept singing and playing, even if all the emotions were bubbling up in her, threatening to overwhelm her in this exciting, once-in-a-lifetime moment.
As the song came to a close, Marla couldn't help the giddy little laugh even as Emily clapped and winked at her. "That sounded amazing," Emily gushed to the room as a whole. She'd always loved Marla's music, but paired with a group of people playing and singing along? It had really amplified it, even if it hadn't sounded quite the same with the guys improvising their accompaniment.
"It did!" Marla agreed, smiling widely. "Sorry guys, but I couldn't resist. How often does a girl get an opportunity like that?" She definitely planned to do that one during her studio time she was going to try to schedule this week. She'd almost got everything together and decided what she wanted to record and all that, though she still had one thing she needed to work out for it before scheduling. And that was where that favor would come in, she hoped.
