"I'mma gonna get it!" John said, leaning way out to pretend to snatch it again. He was grinning, and he rather thought next time he would have to bring his son. New playmates were always good, and he knew he'd missed a lot of bonding time. He smiled over at Marla as she crouched down near him and tickled the toddler. Baby giggles, he'd learned, were a lot of fun, something he'd never expected or even wanted at the time on the road.
"Are you sure about those nefarious plots?" Connor asked, amused. She seemed like a mischievous sort, a bit like them, really, when they were in the mood. He made a show of eyeing Colby from his comfortable position on the couch.
"I am, yes," the other man said, holding out his hand and shaking hers firmly. "And you're Marla. It's nice to meet you. Connor's said nice things."
