When Connor put his arm around her, she glanced at him with a smile, content with it for now. It surprised her just how comfortable she was with the physical contact when, even with dating more recently, she hadn't been comfortable with it before. There just seemed to be something about him that put her at ease, and she'd missed this enough not to question it too much.
Sarah took a small step toward John at his request, holding the stick out to him again before once again pulling it back to her. Only this time she took a few steps back, giggling at the game she was playing.
Well, if Connor wasn't going to worry about Sarah ruining the drum stick, then Emily was going to try her best not to worry about it as well. She was still going to keep an eye on her to make sure she didn't ruin anything else, though.
"Mmm, maybe I am," Marla said with a laugh as she set the things from the kitchen down. And then she pulled the strap of her guitar case up and over her head, setting it down as well. "Nefarious plots? Do I look like the kinda girl who's got nefarious plots brewing in her mind? Though if they are hatching, that's between me an' Colby." She wandered over to where Sarah was playing her game with John then, dropping down to squat next to the toddler. "You gonna play the drums, sweetie pie?" she asked the toddler before tickling her sides, causing Sarah to break down in a fit of giggles. "And you must be John. I'm Marla. Pleasure to meet ya," she said, holding one hand out to John as her other continued to tickle Sarah.
