Emily was resigning herself to being content with the more casual hug, returning it with a warm smile. "Good, I'm glad," she said. She knew he'd been looking forward to Colby and John coming back to town, and she was glad that so far it seemed to not have disappointed.
John's comment from the corner had Emily's cheeks flushing a deeper red, and she nearly protested, not sure Connor wanted them to know anything was going on. But then Connor pressed that light, sweet kiss to her lips, and all thoughts of protest flew from her mind. The kiss was so short, though, that she barely had time to return it. Still, her smile was far from disappointed when he pulled back, and she laughed at his telling John to mind his own.
One thing that Marla was not was a groupie. So, while getting to meet the guys was an incredible experience for her, she didn't actually want to try to flirt or sleep with any of them just because they were famous. Which was why she really hoped that her response wouldn't be taken the wrong way. "Maybe it wasn't the your being my personal cabana boy that I didn't think was good enough. Maybe it was the 'tonight' part of it," she said, walking her fingers up his chest and then tapping his chin lightly as she spoke. "Cause, well, I was kinda hopin' we'd be a bit busy with that whole jamming out thing, and what good's a personal servant durin' that when I'd much rather ya behind the keyboard." Which made it clear that she knew a fair bit about the structure of the band.
