When his hand reached out toward her, it was a testament to just how much healing she'd done in the past two years that she actually took a small step toward him. But then he lowered his hand, and Emily ignored the confusing feeling of disappointment that trickled in. She nodded at his quietly spoken words. "It's okay, really. You had no way of knowing."
