"Ahh, boys, they never do really grow up, do they?" she asked teasingly with a little laugh. "So glad I had a girl!" She was mostly joking, of course, as she would have loved her baby completely no matter the gender, but she did think that girls were more fun. She was distracted then by his silly grin, finding it far too cute for anyone's good. "Oh, yay me! Now, let's just see if I can find a way to break the top five," she teased with a wink.
Emily nodded a bit as he spoke, listening to him with interest. She'd never given a whole lot of thought to celebrities and what kind of lives they lead, not when there were so many wonderful things to experience happening around her every day. "I don't understand all that Hollywood gossip stuff," she admitted, wrinkling her nose. "But I bet you've got a lot of neat stories," she prompted lightly, though she wouldn't push him to tell her any now. Sure, they seemed oddly comfortable with one another so far, but they still had only known each other for a week or so.
That was something she could understand, especially over the past couple years, but she did have moments when she missed the days she could just go-go-go with a full schedule of social activities. "It's always nice to have that one private place you can escape to," she agreed with a soft smile. It was clear that he was curious, but he didn't ask, and she wasn't sure she should bring it up. "Yes, I suppose it is a good thing," she agreed. His mention of Brett had her wanting to reach out, and before she could stop herself, she found her hand crossing the expanse of couch between them, resting it lightly on his arm and squeezing lightly.
