"Yes. Good ol' leg power, even if they're not completely there right now," he said, wiggling the toes of the foot in the cast. God, he'd be glad to get it out of there. It itched something terrible sometimes, until it about drove him completely out of his mind.
He grinned. "Okay, not so old. I'll be twenty-nine in a few weeks. I was lucky and was discovered when I was just barely eighteen." And though it had had its ups and downs, he was grateful to have been found when had been, and so glad to have his bandmates.
He smiled at her, though it was a shade of his usual smile, sad and wistful. "Yeah. It was the bus that had the accident. Brett and Colby's girl Maria died. The rest of us are okay, mostly, aside from being banged up. Kayla is probably the worst off with her injuries. John the best--he's the drummer et all, good support voice," he said, in case she didn't know. "He was sleeping, so it wasn't as bad on his body. The one good thing to come from it was I finally got to cut my hair." He said it mostly to lighten the mood, tugging on one of the locks and grinning a little brighter.
