Connor smiled at Emily as she excused herself. He wondered if he should get her a refill of her coffee while she was gone, or if she wouldn't appreciate it. He tried not to watch her as she walked away, though he had to admit it was a nice view. However, he wasn't about to be caught staring, not by her and not by her friend, either.
"I'm not lying to her," he said quietly, hands wrapping around his coffee, his only gesture of discomfort aside from the tightening of his shoulders as they hunched just a little under his ears. He didn't pull out his 'public' self. That wouldn't go over well anyway, he thought. "I'm Connor. O'Leary, when I'm not on tour, if that matters. Not that google cares, it still brings up half the same sites regardless." He shrugged slightly. "I'm in the music business. I just haven't told her how far in it I am yet. So I'm not lying."
He sighed and turned the cup in his hands. "Do you have any idea how nice it is to be a normal person to someone for the first time in ten years?" he asked a bit frankly himself.
