Emily noticed the way he kept running his hands over his hair and wondered if it was just an absent gesture or if he was nervous or anxious in some way. People had tells, she knew, but sometimes one person's tell was another person's habitual gesture. "Well there's nothin' wrong with that! I barely have time to indulge these days, but once in a while it's a good treat." Between working and chasing Sarah around, she managed to stay in fairly good shape, though she knew that she had a little bit of baby pudge around her middle that she would probably never work off without actively trying, and she just didn't have the time for that.
"These are delicious," she agreed with a smile. She wanted to steal another bite, but she held back, taking a drink of her coffee instead. She winced faintly when it was just a bit too hot and scalded her tongue slightly, blowing on it for a moment before taking another sip. "That's Marla playing now," she said, nodding over to her friend. "What do you think?"
