Her amusement was clear, though Emily did try to contain it at least a bit. A man who was easily distracted? Who'd ever heard of such a thing! she thought with a mental laugh. "Oh, well if she says so, then it must be true!" she teased, a soft giggle slipping through, as she had an inkling that Carol was quite accurate in that description just from the short time she'd known Connor.
Although he seemed to be speaking smoothly enough, there was just a little something off, Emily thought as she glanced over at him. She couldn't quite pinpoint what it might be, though, so she brushed it off for the time being. "Ahh, well that's not so bad, I guess, though I can't say I've ever watched any of those monster movie marathons," she admitted. "And if I tell ya that I've never seen Star Wars or Star Trek will this potential friendship be null and void?" she asked with a teasing little grin.
Emily nodded at him with a smile of thanks when he held the door open for her, heading in ahead of him. At least her eyes didn't really need to adjust to the dim light as it still seemed brighter than the night outside. There was a decent crowd there, though it wasn't so busy that they wouldn't be able to get a table, for which Emily was relieved. Marla was currently at the piano in one corner, her guitar sitting off to one side as she played and sang a soft, slow song. "You wanna grab a table or get drinks first?" she asked content either way.
