"Oh, I don't know. She'd probably just order me not to fire her, and I'd obey out of habit," he said, snickering quietly under his breath at the mental image that evoked. "Pretty sure she'd collar me and chip me to keep up with me if it were required. Which she probably claims it is."
"That's true enough. I did a little food service stuff way back--never did care for it much, but it paid the bills at the time." He would never willingly do fast food again, and food service was a pain in general. He definitely had sympathy for her job.
"I usually take recommendations from Brill and Dana and anyone who has a good rec to make, really. Give it a few episodes. And then whatever movies really strike my fancy, really. Always up for a good drama or action flick, and I love geeky sci fi stuff," he admitted with the air of one confiding a huge secret.
He noticed the discomfort and the blush and put it down to discomfort from the invite. He hoped it hadn't come across wrong. He was just being friendly, though he wouldn't turn down a date with her at some point after he knew her better, he suspected. He peered around instead, not sure if he should apologize and avoided it until he could figure it out. "Looks like a nice place," he said, peering at the coffee shop as he spotted it. He got carefully out of the car, glad to have left the crutches behind but being careful regardless.
