The explanation of who Carol was made a whole lot of sense in the context of how she was mentioned, and Emily nodded once in understanding. "Well now, I think it's probably a good thing. It'd probably be awkward if you wanted to get rid of her," she said with a soft laugh. She imagined, anyway; not that she knew anything about these things, but it seemed to make sense.
Emily laughed again when he rolled his eyes. "Oh honey, there's no shame in that! God knows I couldn't list our presidents either. But I know our menu at work front, back, and inside out! We remember what we need to know," she said decisively, nodding once at him.
"Ooh, yeah, that would make it easier. I used to have Netflix, but then I just got so busy I never had time to use it, so I let it lapse, but maybe I'll look into renewing it. There's just a lot of neat stuff on TV these days, it's hard to decide what to watch in the limited time I do have," she said musingly as she turned her car into the parking lot near the coffee shop. She was quiet as she looked for a parking spot, cheeks tinged as she considered his offer. That was... not something she thought she would be comfortable with, even with as nice as he'd been and as comfortable with him as she'd been so far. "That could be nice," she finally said as she pulled into a spot, trying to push down the anxiety so that it wouldn't show.
