Although she made a little 'ahh' sound, Emily still asked, "Who's Carol?" She was curious, and since he'd brought her up, she didn't feel guilty asking. She figured it had to be someone he was close to, at least, by the way he was talking about her.
Emily was a little surprised with how at ease she felt on the drive to the coffee shop. She'd expected to feel unbearably anxious about being in such close quarters with a man, but she was doing all right. She just didn't get any bad feelings off of Connor, for which she was grateful. It would have been awful to be afraid of a neighbor. "Ooh, that's cool. I'm so bad with music - I like it, but I'm always forgetting who sings what, and God knows I have no hope of having any clue who wrote 'em," she admitted with a little laugh. "And I know just what you mean 'bout not having time for TV! Between work and Sarah, there's really just not much time left over. So now I'm curious! Maybe sometime you'll tell me what you've written?" she asked, not wanting to be pushy about it when they'd just met a few days ago.
