"Yeah, but hey, we all live with our phones these days, yeah?" he said with a grin, touching his where it was tucked into a pocket. Literally, in many ways, given how long he had been on the road. Both personally and professionally, his smart phone was his link to people and the outside world. Fans and family. He needed to start paying attention to the former again, at least online. He was surprised his publicist had let him go this long without much activity, but then, she also knew he wasn't in a good frame of mind to do it.
Connor studied her unobtrusively out of the corner of his eye. She seemed simultaneously friendly and shy, something he couldn't quite figure out yet, though he would admit to being intrigued. He slid into her car and put on his seat belt automatically. Though crashes featured in his nightmares these days, he stifled nervousness at being driven somewhere. It was such a part of life he knew he had to get used to it again.
He smiled as she talked about her little girl. He hoped he'd get to meet the toddler sometime soon. He'd gotten peeks of her, when he'd looked out windows and such, but he hadn't had a chance yet to actually meet her. "Running you ragged," he said sympathetically. "If you ever need a few hours to recharge, I'm rarely anywhere else right now. I won't mind watching her for you if you need it." He knew she probably wouldn't take him up on it, at least not right away, but he wanted to offer. He'd always liked kids.
"I'm settling in a bit. Making plans to spruce up the place a little, I think. Get a few new things and all. Working on getting out all the aches and pains," he said.
