"It's grown on me," Emily said about the area, and there was a fondness in her tone. Tennessee really had grown on her, and even though there were times she missed the familiar desert, she enjoyed the trees and living outside the hustle and bustle of a major city. "Almost two years," she answered with a small smile.
"Right back atchya," she returned the sentiment with a friendly smile. It was good that there were no undertones to things, because even though she'd tried to start dating again this summer, Emily just wasn't comfortable with being flirted with. She handled it on the occasions that it happened at work, but it was just plain uncomfortable otherwise. "I think that's probably a natural reaction. You've gotta take care of yourself, though. Heal up right so that you can get back to doin' things," she pointed out, gently chiding him good-naturedly.
