Natalie hadn't been feeling all that great the past few days - not sleeping well, random nausea. She thought she must have a stomach bug of some sort. So when the owl swooped in her window at an hour when she would normally be sleeping, though not inconsiderately early for normal people, she was awake and sipping a cool glass of water. She read the note, and a smile stretched slowly across her face. It was unexpected and such short notice, but this would be the perfect distraction to the drama in her life...
Dear Theodore,
First of all, congratulations on your engagement! I'm flattered that you thought of me, but I don't actually design wedding gowns regularly. I do on occasion, but usually as a commission or for friends. Don't despair, though. I do have a very good friend who should be able to help us out, and I have a few dresses in mind for her already, so it shouldn't take long.
I'll set an appointment for one o'clock, let me know if that's acceptable. I'll swing by to pick her up, as we'll be going to Muggle London. If she is planning to have a bridesmaid, she's welcome to come along, as well.
Since it is such short notice, and I'll be taking her to Muggle London, I'll pay the boutique and have you pay me back, if that's acceptable. Not to presume, but I'm not sure if you or Pansy have the means for payment in the Muggle world.
Do let me know as soon as possible.
Natalie
She sent the owl off and immediately went to her phone to call the boutique she had in mind, setting a tentative appointment. It was all about connections, of which she had many, so even though it was short notice, they still scheduled her in.
Draco and Millie were still in bed, cuddling, talking, when the owl arrived. Draco read the note, relaying it's short contents to Millie, before he jotted down a quick reply and sent it off to Theo.
Not a problem, Theo. Come by any time.
He slid back into bed, his hand brushing over Millie's waist, his fingers slipping between her legs to tease her. "We probably have enough time for a little more fun," he said with a wink and cheeky smirk.
Pansy woke up feeling rested and thrilled that she was engaged to Theodore Nott. She was sure that today would only bring wonderful things, but even with the wonderful start, there was no way she could hold onto her cheer with that grumpy old spinster. After the third -third- remark about the probability of her having been knocked up, she couldn't hold it back anymore.
"I'm not bloody pregnant." She managed to bite back the personal insult that she so very wanted to throw at the witch. She managed to stop herself from taking the bait any more. She signed where she needed to, and even managed to smile again when the hag said it all seemed to be in order, but it quickly slipped from her face at the mention of waiting periods and premarital counseling.
She was furious, not just that such a ridiculous law was passed, but that they hadn't known about it. "Fine," she bit out. "Are there any other requirements, such as to whom we must go for the counseling?"
