Natalie woke first, the sun already up and shining through the curtains. She didn't get out of bed, though. She took time to just watch Kay sleep. The shadows had fled from her lover's face, and Natalie was relieved that Kay had slept soundly after the excitement from the nightmare. She only wished there had been more that she could have done.
She decided, while watching Kay sleep, that she wouldn't bring the nightmare up or ask what had caused it. There were obviously things in Kay's past that were haunting her, and Natalie would respect her right to keep them to herself, though she doubted she would ever give up hope that Kay would open up to her on her own.
A glance at the clock told her that it was nearly nine-too early to wake Kay, but she had a few things she needed to take care of before Monday, and if she did them now, she'd have the rest of the weekend to enjoy with her lover. That is, if Mandy decided to stay with Nathan, which her niece usually did on the weekends. It was an arrangement Natalie enjoyed very much, even if she wasn't particularly fond of Nathan.
She pulled a bathrobe on over her pajamas and slipped her feet into a pair of slippers. As she left her room and made her way to her home office, she heard someone walking around. Curious, yet knowing the few people who would be able to enter without setting off their wards, Natalie went to find out who it was. Perhaps Mandy had come home early, and wouldn't that be awkward?
She spotted Nathan moving down the hall that Mandy's home studio was on. "Nathan? What are you doing here? I thought you and Mandy were staying at your home this weekend?" she asked as she walked to him.
