All of the preparations, including going to the spot he had in mind and getting it ready and casting spells to prevent wanderers from intruding on it, took longer than he'd anticipated. It was already five o'clock by the time he made it back upstairs to his room and into the warm, soothing sprays of his shower.
He was excited about his date with Millie, though his talk with Blaise had helped to soothe most of his nerves and give him that boost of confidence that he could always rely on Blaise to give him. He was still a little worried that she would feel a little bit disappointed about their date being a private one, but he had hope that she would give him the opportunity to show her off in public, as well.
Draco chose his clothes carefully. He picked a deep burgundy dress shirt, tailored black slacks, silver tie, and a formal black robe to go over it. He picked a warm, soft cloak, remembering what Blaise had said about having something to drape over her shoulders if she gets cold.
Just before Apparating to Millie's family home, Draco picked up a bouquet of amaryllises for Millie and a single yellow rose for her mother. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he appeared in front of her home and took the quick walk to the front door. Smiling, he knocked politely and waited.
