Mandy's sketchbook could only keep her occupied for so long when she wasn't truly inspired, when she was feeling so out of sorts. She tossed it aside and went to walk off some energy. She ended up going out back, thinking the fresh air might help her headache, and found Aunt Natalie sitting with a cuppa, just looking out over the landscape.
"It's heading toward Friday night, what are you doing home?" Mandy teased her aunt.
Natalie glanced over and smiled gently. "I'm just having a quiet moment. I think I'll stay in tonight. What are you up to?"
Mandy huffed a sigh. She probably should have used her aunt as a sounding board during the past week, but she'd wanted to figure it all out on her own. Well, she'd made her decision and told Nathan, so what harm was there in talking about it with her? "I'm going to meet Terry. He wrote to me, asking me to forgive him and meet with him tonight so we could talk."
Natalie looked at her with sympathetic eyes. "I'm sorry, Mandy. I know how much it hurts that he's changed."
"Yes, it does hurt, but I've got to go so I can put it all behind me and move on. I'm going to Nathan's after, so don't wait up for me," she told her with a grin.
"All right," Natalie said, watching her niece walk away. Perhaps she'd invite Kay over since Mandy wasn't going to be returning tonight...
