"Oh yes. Sable is just a little darling, just as pretty as her mother, thank Merlin," Millie said. "Has Abel twisted around her little finger. Never thought I'd see the day my big brother got bossed around by a little girl." Millie laughed quietly. A lot about her was quiet, like she didn't want people noticing her. Who would want to, after all.
Millie grinned, despite the pangs of her own heart. Same old Pansy, in some ways. It was comforting.
"Furniture, artwork, various collectibles. Some vintage clothing. Stuff like that. Oh, and of course jewelry. I found some really nice stuff in Russia and France. You might like some of it." She also had a few things of a more personal nature for some of her old classmates, things she'd salvaged from estate sales. She'd needed them initially, to stand as credit against some of her purchases, but now she was free of debts. She would be returning them when she could.
They chatted for a few moments, but were interrupted by a cry of "Taddy!" and Peter leaning out of Pansy's arms toward an approaching Theo. "Ah, Pansy. I just wanted to make sure that Peter was behaving himself..." He smiled at Pansy, for a moment it just him and her, before he noticed her companion.
His smile was polite for a moment before he did an almost visible double take. "Oh Merlin, Millie? Is that you?" he said, voice full of surprise. Her broad smile answered him, and he hugged her. Millie made certain neither of them lingered, though Theo didn't try. Theo couldn't help but look her up and down once. "Damn, Millicent. You've been busy, haven't you."
Theo stood back and put an arm around Pansy. It was a shock, to see his old friend and yes, lover, back in England.
Millie blushed faintly. "Thanks," she said. "It's great to see you too." It was good seeing Theo again. Even without the physical side, they had been friends that last year. She'd missed him. "I was right, you two do make quite the striking couple," she told Pansy, feeling only a little jealous, and oh so lonely. "Or triple, perhaps," she amended as Peter clamored to be held by his 'Taddy.'
