The more relaxed Brian become, the easier it was for Ferrol to remain relaxed. He had known he could do it, it was a gift of his to lighten anyone's mood, but it didn't mean it was easy for him to do all the time.
"It's a blast and a half," Ferrol said. "I could make you a ton of money if I tried. I just don't do it very often." It wasn't worth the risk for himself, for Theo had saved much of the family assets before the war, but every now and then he dabbled for others. If he was caught, he could get in trouble, but he was always terribly careful.

"Private sector?" Man seemed well off, so probably not the public sector, though maybe he was wrong. perhaps government, but Ferrol hadn't pegged Brian as a government man.
