It was boggy ground and being a Slytherin hadn't made it any easier to navigate. Perhaps he should have looked at it as a blessing in disguise when the idiots in charge decided to abolish his House. He shook off the thought as soon as it passed through his mind. No matter how difficult things had been for him, removing an entire house based solely on ignorant, prejudiced ideas was wrong, no matter how you looked at it.
Thomas coughed once, his eyes widening slightly. "Ah, well, I think it's something I won't be able to help but worry over," he said. It would be incredibly awkward to be with someone only to find out she was a direct relative, even if it was just by cousins.
"Yes, I was comfortable there," he hedged with a raised eyebrow, and then asked, "Hmmm, what do you mean?" He truly didn't understand what she was getting at.
