"Muggleborn," Kay replied. "It was always very weird, visiting his parents." Like stepping into a nother world, though they had never made her feel different or less because of what she was--unlike the other side of her family.
Kay couldn't say that Natalie's description was particularly reassuring. No, his tense muscles definitely told him he wasn't reassured. "I guess I can't blame him for being protective of you," he said. After all, he was protective of her too.
"Does he-- Is he." Kay huffed a nervous laugh and collected himself. "He's a muggle, right? How much does he know?" He felt it was very important to know, though he wasn't planning on slipping up anythign in front of her friends.
He also had to wonder, in a small part of his mind, why he was just now hearing about Brian. Was this man someone to be jealous of? He didn't want to be, but he couldn't really help a sliver of that feeling.
