Kay's face twisted, not quite crumpling. To him, he was only with her. Even Kit didn't party around these days, because Natalie filled that void. He longed to explain, but he couldn't. Instead of denying or affirming her words, though, he ducked his head, for once wishing for longer hair to hide behind.

Gods, his head hurt. His brain seemed to throb behind behind his eyes, evidence of the strain they were under. Headaches were evidence of her condition, though with no other knowledge they would seem random.
It was almost painful to hear those words. She didn't know how much he loved her, how desperately. "You have no idea..." he breathed, leaning close to kiss her. "How much I care for you. No idea." It was all there for her to see, if she could look deep enough, see through the cracks.
