He started to agree immediately--unknown to many, he and the others were comfortable in that world, their father having been a Muggleborn. The agreement started to spill from his lips when Natalie pressed onward, and said the one thing he didn't want to hear, didn't want to deal with.
Kay's hands tensed, stilled their movements. Still gently, he untangled them from the softness of her hair. "No, there are no plans with him," he said in a clipped voice, feeling abruptly extremely defensive.
Part of the problem lay in the fact that only Kat loved Terence, and even then she knew on some level that the man wasn't right for her. HOwever, it wasn't in her not to try and keep trying. Kit and Kay, in fact, rather loathed Terence. He was always tearing Kat up into knots, upsetting her, forcing them to protect her.
They NEVER liked anyone who upset Kat.
He withdrew slightly, physically as well as inwardly. He hated hearing the hurt in her voice. "Terrence is... is..." There was such a dichotomy of emotion in Kay's voice, torn, a hint of the broken person. "I can't explain..." There was a note of pleading in his voice, making it thin, much younger, more vulnerable.
