Ferrol grinned. "Long name for a little girl, but I'm sure you bore it very cutely," he said teasingly. In truth, he expected she had been a very pretty little girl. He needed to take Natalie up on that offer of looking at those family photos sometime...
They were so... soppy. And cute. Almost disgustingly so. Nathan and cute didn't usually go together.
He gave her one of his full blown grins, easily dismissing his earlier almost-descent into self-... well, pity wasn't exactly the turn. Wistfulness for something he'd never have, perhaps.
"I know what you mean, darling," he drawled the endearment. "Though not everyone shares your openness of mind. I'm sure someone wll come along." He said it mostly to placate her, for he didn't believe that last himself. "I'm just glad you came along and helped Nathan learn and move on from his."
He picked up his drink again and sipped, knowing his brother wasn't upset at his frankness. If his shirtsleeve was now pulled down over most of the mark, well, he doubted anyone would comment on it.
