It was the perfect way to distract her, he knew. Their chemistry was so strong, and he knew he could completely distract her with just a few touches when he had to. He didn't overuse the tendency, but times like this called for something to get her mind off the topic at hand.
"Well, at least something good came out of it," he said softly. Her art was undeniably beautiful, and it was something he often marveled at. It wasn't something he could even contemplate doing, and he admired her for it. "I'd love to see it."
He kept gently brushing her tears away, occasionally kissing her damp cheeks and tasting the salt on his lips after. Tears had once been something he'd liked to see, when he forced a woman or tried for information, but on her it was hard to bear, especially when he knew this ate at her sensitive soul.
