Me or mine. So that was it. Cronus had someone or someones he cared about. That made Hera intensely curious. Who could engender such feelings from a god who gave little thought to his own children and the wife who bore them and his only thought to himself and his own rule? Perhaps Cronus had changed too. Maybe he had learned his lessons and had found actual love and knew that you don't betray that by thinking only of your selfish desires.
Leaning forward, Hera folded her arms on the desk. "I appreciate having allies. I am ready to accept my punishment, but I would like to have some support when that comes down. I will accept your offer of support and I will back you should Zeus comes after you. But to prevent that, I propose a meeting between the two of you on neutral ground. I want him to meet you at a time when emotions aren't running high and I want him to see you as you are now. If something happens and you step in, he will turn his wrath on you and you will bear the full brunt of it without hesitation. If he has met you and talked to you and you step in, he will hesitate and possibly stand down. And I want you to see that he has changed. If things don't go well, I will distract him and I will make sure that you are protected. Does that sound like something you'd be willing to consider?"
