Having a rock thrown back at him should have given him an uneasy pause.... should being the key word there. It didn't. Instead his look of consternation slipped effortlessly into one of joy and amusement. He even went so far as to clapping his hands together a few times soundlessly before looking over his shoulder and then back to the water before him.
He had just grabbed the rock and was poised to drop it into the water again when something started to bubble towards the surface and he froze (much like a deer, but happier looking) until something did, indeed, surface.
The other demanded to know what he'd summoned him for and Barnabus could only think of one thing to say "Have you been saved by Jesus today? do you wanna be saved by me instead because he's not here right now!"
If Mr. Owen could hear him right now he'd be cringing into oblivion, but Barn didn't know that, he thought he was at least mostly on the right track in this weird new world.
