WHO: Elizabeth and Theodore Nott WHEN: 14 January, 2002 WHERE: Parkinson Manor, Leeds RATING: PG? SUMMARY: Theo's mum's asked him if she's dead and Theodore needs to tell her in person.
It was inevitable that this question would come up. Theodore had known that at some point his mother would have asked him whether she was still alive. Thus far he'd managed to avoid the topic when she'd asked about his upbringing or about events when she hadn't been there see them. He hadn't wanted to upset her really, how could he possibly tell his darling mother that she'd died when he was seven? How could he possibly say that she hadn't been there to see him grow up, that she wouldn't be there for the important parts of his future? He couldn't. It's why he hadn't said anything and why he'd asked Pansy not to say anything either. Granted, he couldn't very well stop anyone else from telling her, though he'd hoped no one would bother. She may only be a couple of years older than Theodore himself, but she was still his mother, and Theodore adored her beyond all reason.
Yet now that she'd asked, Theodore had no choice; he had to tell her. It was just a matter of doing so in a delicate manner. Walking toward her suite as fast as he could, Theodore took the stairs two at a time. He reached her several minutes later, pausing outside of his mother's door. Taking a deep breath, Theodore finally knocked. "Mum?"
