After a great experience of making a wonderful discovery, Rykas felt the need to share some information. He spent a leisurely stroll surveying the things around him, all the way through the city, the palace grounds, right up to the point he climbed the steps of one of the highest towers and entered the large room. It was filled with, seemingly, junk and a lot was covered in cobwebs and years of dust. Needless to say this wasn't a very visited spot and with it being so high up there was no official guard patrols to climb this high.
Rykas weaved the obstacles in his path to get to a large, ornate mirror, covered in an aging grey cloth previously before he pulled it off and stood looking at the pristine glass. He nicked his finger with the small dagger on his belt and drew a dark symbol upon the surface.
"Aperi oculos tuos tenebrarum penetrum", he spoke deeply, the Ancient language working with magics so as to resonate almost in the room.
The symbol 'bled' across the looking glass, filling it with crimson which slowly darkened to different shades before reaching black upon black. The very light of the room seemed drawn into the void but Rykas stood unphased and waited patiently until a deep voice called through.
"What does the Prince of the kingdoms, summon my attention for?"
"Abaddon...I thought an update was in order", Rykas started and made a general statement of things happening around the city, up to the point of their recent visitor on the beach, "...and he seemed unusual with those qualities, enough to consider a usefulness"
"Indeed. And what of the heir to the throne?"
Rykas scoffed but shrugged with great gesture, "it's still too hard to tell at this point. We shouldn't push any plans until I can be sure they'll bear fruit. Until then I'll continue working my own way...little nudges here and a push there"
"Do not become careless or lax, nor should you waste the power that has been given to you. More attacks will come, to keep the city on edge and on guard. The infiltrators will play along until the right time. You may go"
The mirror reverted to normal and Rykas stood there a moment, expressionless but then grinned to himself. An entity of few words that one. He turned to leave and spotted a guard in shock, bearing witness. That wouldn't do at all.
"I-I-I followed your higness to deliver a message but...y-y-you're consorting with...with THEM"
The guard made a break for it but Rykas deftly put water from roof-leaks to good use, ramming it into the door to close it before freezing it instantly. An impassable barrier. A sword was drawn, the man was ready to turn on him that quick from seeing a little dark deeds. Pity, it meant there was only one option for him.
The guard moved to take a swing but suddenly found his body unable to move. Rykas made few gestures but he was doing something. The man's body had a will of its own and he took steps back as Rykas moved forward. His own hand moved and prised the opposite fingers open until the blade fell, before grabbing them and yanking down to break all of them. He cried out but then his jaw locked tight.
"Very sorry to do this but we can't have you messing things up now, can we. If you're wondering in these final moments just what's happening, I'll shed some light to ease your confusion", Rykas spoke calmly, the man climbed up into a window ledge with no glass in its pane, staring down at water and rocks below, "I'm controlling your blood and the water content in your body. Simple but effective. Something I wouldn't be able to do without a little help but completely worth it I'd say. I don't have time to mess around doing others things with you so it's short and sweet unfortunately"
One step back and Rykas released his hold but it was too late for the poor man as gravity took its hold and he plummeted down to oblivion. Rykas rubbed his temples in frustration. It would be annoying if this were to keep happening. The ice melted and he walked out the door, back down to ground level. Maybe he needed to waste some time after all.
