Richard certainly wasn't going to hurt Ryan, and he figured he knew more about cleaning up wounds than Beth did. Returning to find the room empty apart from Ryan, he frowned slightly, checked that the boy was still breathing, then settled to cleaning the boy's face to start with. After that, his neck, and after that, with very careful checks in case of broken bones, to ease clothing free where he could and keep up with the cleaning.
And sometimes cut it free because it was safer than trying to move Ryan.
He'd changed the water twice - and found a blanket to set ready to cover the boy - and was returning with a third bowl when someone else finally came in.
