Who:The Donna and her turtle Where: The Herald Square Victoria's Secret What: Arden goes shopping and takes her turtle with her. Isn't she considerate! When: July 16th, mid-day
New York City was not Milan. This was a thing that should have been immediately apparent to anyone with any brains whatsoever, of course, but a thing worth repeating nonetheless. The Italian food was at once perfect and so disappointing it made Nicola Zoccarato weep a little for the bistro across the street from his business in Milan. The people were terrible. Unilaterally, the people were simply terrible.
There were a few good ones; his current boyfriend, of course, but then he had Italian blood and that was a thing expected when you had Italian blood. True Italian blood, too, not the watered down American version of Italian blood. And there was a difference. You could tell it.
But the Donna was in New York, and so New York was not at all bad. Even when it was.
The shopping, either way, was not what Nico had ever expected. It was different, somehow, than any city Nico had ever seen. He wasn’t sure how, just that it was. And it was a thing the Donna did and enjoyed, so it was a thing Nico went along with.
This particular morning, they were on their way to the flagship Victoria's Secret & PINK Store 34th Street New York Herald Square. By private car, of course, because the subway was too dirty for the Donna and cabs were too common. The Donna deserved nothing but the best.
“What are we shopping for today?” Nico asked, adjusting the turtle bracelet on his left wrist. This one was the leather twine with the turtle as the clasp; he had many. This was not his favourite, but it matched the colour of his jacket, right down to the colour of the metals. Class in all things.
And okay, maybe he was trying to pretend he wasn't equally horrified and excited at the prospect of a lingerie store with his Donna.
