Sookie giggled. "Do I make a good faerie princess?" She brightened when he appeared. She wasn't expecting him, so she was delighted he was there. "I thought it fit the occasion," her right hand met his arm as it slid down to take his hand. They were a couple after all, she could hold his hand.
The familiar coolness of his hand had been missed. They'd arrived in late September, he was gone by October. She'd never been so miserable as she had the months he'd been gone. "I've missed you," she leaned up on tip toe to kiss his cheek. To her he was the most handsome man around.
"Isn't this all just beautiful?" she said as the fire pits were being lit. "There are even fire works too. Why don't we grab an empty fire pit so we can talk?" She wanted to tell him again that she'd missed him with every fiber of her being. She would be able to express that to him when they were alone later on tonight.
