Who: Alex Where: Sean and Alex's room Open to: If anyone does dare venture into their room... When: Night What: A Nightmare Warnings: Death and generally unpleasantness
Alex didn't want to sleep, he really just wanted to hold Sean, well wrap himself around Sean. He sometimes does wonder how the hell Sean puts up with sleeping next to him. He can't help how he just sort of wraps himself around Sean like something out of the science books he was so bored once he actually read or maybe a horror movie.
Of course he'd heard things around about nightmares and what people have been experiencing. So far he'd been lucky about it. Those dreams hadn’t found their way in. He didn't want to feel the things that his subconscious could supply them with. Some of his real memories were bad enough. They were enough to provide real backdrops to the horrors he could think of. He looked at the mess of ginger hair next to him and his heart clenched. He couldn't…
That was his real nightmare now. Losing Sean. He didn’t want to think about that. About losing someone he cared so much about. More than he ever cared about anything or one else. He wriggled down into a better position and curled up next to Sean. Finally admitting that he needed to sleep.
The nightmare started off innocent enough just him and Sean messing around, playfighting which usually meant other things in his dreams (and okay reality too) but this didn’t seem to be going the usual way it headed, the fighting seemed to be getting more serious. Words thrown at each other not out of loving banter between them, they were screaming, shouting accusations. Alex was trying to block them out, ignore what Sean was shouting at him, accusing him of. Alex would never cheat. He’d never…
The shouting became louder and Alex realised that his hands were glowing, his chest was…
Alex knew what happened after that. He doesn’t need to see it to know what happened. He woke up breathing hard. He’s lived that nightmare before but then it was protection. He was looking after his sister. He didn’t know the idiot that had decided to attack them. This was Sean. HIs Sean. His best friend and love.
He scrambled out of bed, untangling himself from Sean. He has to get some distance between them. He can’t lose control. He can’t hurt him. He’d never forgive himself for it.He practically fell out of their bed, trying not to drag the sheets with him. Leave Sean to sleep. He doesn’t need this. He didn’t ask for this. A boyfriend so destructive that it might kill him.
Alex finally holed up in the corner of the room, back firmly braced against the wall, he can feel the splinters. He doesn’t care about them, he deserved them for what he’s done. His hands were tucked over his bare chest. He wondered why, as if they’d do any good against that sort of power…
He took solace in the dark no one would be able to see him sobbing, shoulders shaking as the sobs came. That was real. Too real. The idea that he would lose control again and lose Sean with his own power being the cause of the destruction. He wasn’t going back to sleep then. He watched Sean from his corner. Scared if he closed his eyes again it would all become true.
