phasingirl: So Mippa, have you and Em discussed plot at all?
mippachan: nothing extensive. We were just kinda going with the flow at the moment while people got their bearings. mippachan: I figured we'd do some fluffy character-developing things until we all got used to playing with each other. you know? I mean, I can really only speak for myself, but that was the gist of our discussion yesterday
phasingirl: Yeah. No, that's fine. She wasn't too specific last we spoke so I was just wondering. Hang on, let me pull up her email.
mippachan : get some development rolling to explain a bit of the unexplained in the series.
phasingirl: Oh well. Okay, Emily said, "I was thinking of little things. Like, for example, how Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are currently doing recon in the outer rings of the city. Maybe someone should recognize one of them? (I figure this would start a chain reaction). Or maybe Toph could visit Zuko and Iroh's tea shop."
mippachan: Really anything is up in the air. There are certain things I would like to get to doing as Mai, but at the same time I don't want to be heavy-handed either, you know?
phasingirl: So I was wondering people's opinions on straying from Canon because if we're okay with that, we could have more freedom with this idea.
mippachan: I think that depends on the taste of each person.
phasingirl: Yeah, I do understand that. There are definitely canon moments we should work toward, but with the groups cut off from one another our interactions are so limited.
Giselagreen: I'm fine with straying.
phasingirl: Honestly, I am as well. I've never been one to love canon with anything.
mippachan: I tend to be the type to expand on already-established canon, enriching things which were already done. If any of you are familiar with anime, I'm the 'doujinshi' type where I like to cushion already-established facts with additional or alternate stories. But again, that's just me, and I know I'm not the only player in this game. ;D
Giselagreen: That's my thought too. I wouldn't want interaction to be limited.
mippachan: I think we could have some of both, myself.
phasingirl: Yeah, absolutely. So my thinking is we should maybe come up with certain plot points we want to make sure we hit, I'll compile them into a plot timeline, and we can play around with everything else.
mippachan: some aspects of canon - the 'soul' of things, if you will (as far as characterization goes) I like to keep, but I figure we can change around the steps and the paths we make as long as we agree on certain aspects that we agree to address at the very least. how we get there can change all we like.
phasingirl: I am all for that. So why don't I start a thread where those absent can post plot point ideas, and we'll discuss from there so everyone can really participate. So I will start a thread OOC, and send this to those who couldn't participate in this five whole minute long conversation. We're going to shoot for a later chat next time, so we'll see.
There wasn't much missed because poor Mippa kept getting kicked out of the room. AIM is evil anyway. I have always believed it! So we're going to mix canon and AU as normal fandom games do anyway. If you all could post the plot points you know you want to see happen and we can all kind of agree on them, we can have a lot more fun and freedom, without limiting the girls to the girls, the gaang to the gaang, and Iroh and Zuko to each other and Ying. So get postin', and when we're agreed on specific moments we want to keep, I'll make a new timeline so we know where we're going while we're playing around.
