Character Name: Stefan
Background: Stefan's biological parents are a mystery to him - he knows the roamers who raised him aren't actually related to him, and half of the reason they kept him around was because the woman was sterile, and couldn't have children of her own. Therefore a scrawny little kid who happened to be wandering around made a perfect opportunity to make up for that lack. With all of that going on, he was raised while traveling all over the place and gaining a slightly more practical demonstration on How to Kill Zombies. He doesn't actually remember his first one, but he was told that it involved a pair of broken garden sheers and a surprising amount of strength for a little kid (though fueled by fear and adrenaline).
Growing up a roamer outside of the walls of the towns made it so that he tends to feel rather superior toward the townies. They hide behind their walls because they know that, otherwise, they'd be zombie-food. His parents didn't exactly discourage this attitude - actually, they were probably the ones that instituted it in the first place. It's not to say that parts of the attitude weren't justified, because he did manage to actually grow to almost-adulthood outside of the walls without becoming zombie-food himself.
However, as he got older, his parents decided that maybe sending him somewhere to gain actual social skills (beyond hello, how are you, and duck while I kill this thing). Thus he was rather unceremoniously packed up and shipped off to this particular high school, a situation that he isn’t particularly pleased about.
Aside from the arrogance, Stefan tends to be…well, not the world’s nicest guy, but he isn’t a bastard either. He’ll be polite, and even friendly, but his arrogance usually keeps him from getting too close to most people, or at least the townies.
Physical Description: He looks a bit older than his seventeen years might indicate, and has used that to his advantage in the few places where age is still something that’s required. Being constantly on the move since he was a child means that he’s never had the time to build up extra weight, and learning to defend his family means that he’s in good shape as well. Additionally, he’s tall – about 5’11”. He’ll never have the look of a linebacker for a football team (or what passes for one now), but he’s solid enough.
The most distinguishing feature about him is the bright green hair, which he usually leaves in a messy mane just past his shoulders. This is, of course, generally accompanied by a cocky little smirk.
RP Example: Up in the morning, get dressed, do the usual stretches and exercises and then…wait. Because it didn’t seem like any of the idiots here ever got up at a decent hour (though they’d probably protest that “before the sun had risen” was a decent hour). Stefan snorted and leaned back against his bed from where he was sitting on the ground. What the hell did they know, anyway? It was best to get up before dawn. Maybe the zombies would still be pretty active, but then you could get ready to move so that you could travel during the “safest” parts of the day.
Absently he dug through the clutter underneath his bed and withdrew a tennis ball, bouncing it against the floor a time or two before throwing it at the wall across from him and catching it on the rebound. Screw what his roommate might think, or the guys on the other side of the wall. They were probably used to it by now anyway, and he needed something to do until everything got started. He threw the ball again, settling into his usual rhythm.
