"Fantastically good." Lillian had a few ill-placed lines that faded once she had a decent moisturizer on, and the woe on Kurt's face when he saw those lines...
"All right. Later." Lil still was not a big fan of saying good-bye.
On the train ride, Lillian puttered about on her little datapad and made plans and lists because that's what she did when she had a long commute anywhere. And she worried about Ethan. He sounded so despondent. He had to get back home to New York.
She was able to send off an e-mail to Ethan's landlord and received an answer a little later that things were fine and that he could make arrangements for either moving or extending his lease by the first of the year. (If all else failed, Lil would just have his things moved to her place...it wasn't like she didn't have the space!)
And then she actually dozed off herself, for a short time, unusual for her.
It was nearly one in the afternoon when Lil arrived in Columbus and picked up the tiny car she'd rented. She made sure that she had driven for a little while before calling Ethan again around two o'clock.
