WHO: Robin Lovell & Kash Kapoor
WHEN: Today
WHERE: Cafeteria
WHAT: Not doing a great job talking about feelings
WARNINGS: Idiots

It was easier for Robbie to manage his break of friendship when Matty and Frankie weren’t dating. It was almost like Frankie and Robbie had an alliance where they were on the same page about where he’d failed her and therefore them. But Frankie and Matty were now back together, yet he and Robbie were still estranged.

Robbie didn’t like thinking about his sister’s boyfriend constantly. It was easier to think sister’s boyfriend than it was to think old friend.

“You think this weekend will be weird with the hike?”

Robbie finally asked Kash from across the lunch table. He’d gone suspiciously quiet for a few moments. His eyes flicked to the doorway of the cafeteria again, unconsciously searching out Clover.

Yes was Kash’s immediate thought. He took his time chewing the food he had in his mouth before responding. “Are you going to make it weird?”

Robbie made a face of disgust at Kash. “I’m not going to make it weird. It’s already weird.”

Kash held up his hands. “Did you just answer your own question?”

Robbie took a bite of his sandwich while simultaneously flipping Kash off.

Kash rolled his eyes. “Make it not weird, then.”

“I can’t just snap my fingers and make it not weird,” Robbie retorted.

It was Kash’s turn to take a bite. It felt like Robbie was looking for an answer before he was actually ready to find one. “Are you still mad?”

Robbie paused. “Of course I am.”

“Can you explain like. Exactly why?”

Robbie put his sandwich down, immediately becoming defensive. “I thought that’s pretty obvious. He was an absolute dick to my sister.”

Kash eyed his abandoned sandwich. “But Frankie forgave him.”

“So?” Robbie put his hand over the sandwich to protect it from a potential attack.

Kash inched his hand across the table toward Robbie’s plate. “So are you going to hold a grudge over something the person it actually happened to has already let go of?”

Robbie had no retort so he shoved as much sandwich into his mouth as he could and glared at Kash.
