You must consider what you are saying. It sounds like the sort of story told by those who would discredit us. If, as you say, it truly happened, then it is a deeply sad and shameful thing and the member of my family who confided it to you would surely not appreciate you sharing it. If this woman had lived in my time, the family would have seen that she had the best care at St Mungo's so that she didn't embarrass to help her overcome such dreadful misguided thoughts before they led to her ruin.
