He's the most famous Merlin, yes. I expect the others were mostly named after him. There are twins at my school named Merlin and Morgan, which is a bit much if you ask me. The stories of the original Merlin aren't exactly consistent, though. It was a very long time ago. But he was quite capable of time travel, didn't he send Arthur into the future, to a time when Britain will need him as king again?

I'd still rather visit a healer. Usually the worst they do is make you drink horrid-tasting potions. When I broke my arm it took a whole day to mend it, which wasn't pleasant, but a doctor might have just chopped it off! And I hate to think what they'd do about dragon pox. Do you really trust doctors?
Yes, that's right. Especially if you're in motion, because you'd have to continuously warm the air ahead of you! It would be exhausting. You could warm the air indoors, but it's usually easier just to light a fire.
