Slavery is illegal under international magical law, I believe, and for very good reason. I cannot ever agree with it. I do respect that you are far more knowledgeable on matters of history than I could ever be, but it seems to have been the worst kind of injustice, and often suffered by women who would have taken no part in the wars that preceded it. I shan't attempt to converse with you in them, then, as I suspect my pronunciation would be beyond atrocious for anything that wasn't an incantation. One of my favourite texts on the subject is Kaššaptu by Livilla Terzi - a 19th century Italian witch, I'm afraid, but she gives a nice phonetic rendering of many ancient Mesopotamian spells.
I shall be careful, I promise! And you mustn't fret - my health may be a trifle delicate, but that doesn't affect the strength of my protective spells one bit. I won't come to harm.
