I understand the sentiment, but I don't think I shall use them. I respect your right to organise your household as you think best, but I'd appreciate if you could remember my personal wish not to use those technologies, in conjunction with magic or otherwise.
I can see Thestrals. I couldn't until last year, but, well, things change. Did you know that there were magical creatures at my own gathering? I think that here in Preya, those who look like us don't care to be classed with the others. I'm acquainted with one of the leaders in the werewolf community and if you don't object I think it would be polite to invite him. They aren't a danger to us here.
I'd be very happy to see to the invitations and menus and the like. For the music, I'd suggest that I find a band who are capable of playing both traditional music for dancing and something more suited to modern tastes, and have them alternate sets?
It's quite alright. You were the first to react to me that way, but there have been others since. I'll admit that it is distressing to talk about the culture and traditions that I value and have others respond as if I have told them I enjoy bathing in the blood of muggle-borns, but there it is. You cannot help what you were taught about us. I don't think it will help to discuss matters, as I truly don't want to quarrel with you, but I should like it very much if you could come to think of me as just your old-fashioned cousin, and not alike to your enemies.
I know that it must all seem like history to you, but I came to Preya because of some of the terrible things I saw in the war at home. To have others dismiss it as an unimportant precursor to an even worse war was...very difficult for me. I do not think it would be good for me to talk or read about such tragedies. I must make my peace with things, and when I go home I will strive to ensure that the future I see is a better one than that I have been warned about.
