As sly as Moriarty wanted to pass himself off to be, he could not at all surpass the intelligence of someone beyond human. After all, he was merely human. There was no way he could possibly enchant himself to look differently or go invisible. He could not transport himself from one place or the other. He was forced to be human, and being human (in Preya at least) was old-fashioned.
So when he felt the grip tighten on his shoulder, Moriarty wondered if perhaps this was his end. But he kept a hopeful expression on his face, playing a smirk as he always did, and considered all of Loki's words before continuing with a reply of his own.
"Always watching, always listening, like every government conspiracy theory. Is that what has brought you here? The rebellion and all of its complicated drama that has surfaced because of it?" Jim was quick to take a few steps back once the man released his shoulder. "I'm just a man doing business, and that's all." With Loki's name, but he felt inclined to leave that portion out.
