Sharon had been pretty upset when the other copy of Steve just up and disappeared. She'd gone out there a couple of times to check, and felt like a stalker driving by his place. The first time all of his things were there, and the second everything was gone. She knew this place like... sent people home? But she'd never been hit so close to home. Now he was back, and he didn't remember being here before. It was a total trip. She wasn't sure how to handle it all.
As much as Sharon wished she could just drop everything to be by his side, she had responsibilities. A job, people who depended on her. She'd swapped with Jonathan, so he could have Christmas off to be with his family. It meant that Sharon had New Years off, which was nice. But now she was wishing she didn't have work. All through her shift Sharon was distracted.
She headed home to change and cook. It'd been a very long day so far, and when Sharon looked at the vegetables and meat in the fridge, she really wished she'd chosen something easier to make. Or prepared things ahead of time. Maybe cooking wasn't the best idea. Sharon closed the fridge door. Pinned to it with a magnet was the menu from a local Chinese Restaurant that delivered. She pulled the menu down and broke into a smile.
It wouldn't arrive until after Steve was set to, but that didn't bother her. Sharon opened a bottle of wine and poured herself a glass, to sit and wait for him. She grabbed her book and settled by the fireplace.
