Who: Scott and Gideon Where: Hale Cabin, Everdale When: Thursday 12/21. What: Alpha Lessons Status: Complete
Scott had two pack members that were hurting inside. He hadn’t talked to Lydia yet. One thing at a time, and Cora was having a rough time with Stiles being an angry introvert. Scott had managed to get Stiles to talk to him, and almost on a dare from his best friend, saw what was keeping Stiles from sleeping or getting better. It was pretty harsh, and Stiles didn’t want to remember it anymore. There was a way to make that happen, but Scott didn’t know how to do it. There were two people in Preya who did. One wasn’t even a consideration, but Gideon was. Scott left for Everdale having skipped the last day of school before Winter Break.
Moira had really gone all out with the decorating. Even the outside trees and bushes held lights and ornaments. Any other time the sight would make Scott smile. Not today. He didn’t see the petite she-wolf anywhere outside so he jogged up the porch stairs then wrapped on the door. Scott shoved his hands into his pockets and sighed as he waited.
-- Moira had gone out to get more decorations. Which Gideon wasnt sure where else she could decorate at this point. But he didnt stop her either. Which meant the Alpha would have the day to himself.
Instead of being inside that cabin, Gideon was out back. With the mixture of desperation and anger caught his scnet, Gideon would come around. Just to spot the young Alpha. Despite the cold, Gideon wore his jeans and a tank top for the moment. That axe in hand.
“I would say its a pleasure to see you. But judging by your face and scent you are in desperate need of aide.”
Was all Gideon said as he slammed that axe into the tree stomp and motioned the young Alpha into his cabin.
--
Scott was relieved to see the large Alpha come around the side of the cabin. For a moment, after no one had answered his knock, he had thought maybe Moira and Gideon were both out. He’d have sat on the porch and waited, since he didn’t want to go home without an answer for Stiles.
“Hey, Gideon,” Scott said as he walked toward the other man. “Yeah. I have a situation and I need your help.” This may or may not go well. At the very least there was Peter. “I need to know how to take someone’s memories. Specific memories.”
-- Once inside the cabin and upon hearing Scott’s request all Gideon could do was sigh heavily. “Its not an easy thing to do. What memories are you trying to remove exactly?” he asked as he moved to the kitchen.
Signalling Scott to sit. Once seated Gideon would work on that kettle as he started preparing them tea. Mainly it was to calm his nerves since Gideon could see Scott was stressed out.
--
Scott had followed Gideon into the cabin and through to the kitchen. Moira’s decorations, tree and other holiday things went unnoticed and unappreciated by the young Alpha. It was probably a good thing she wasn’t there or she might have been insulted or had her feelings hurt.
He plunked himself into a chair at Gideon’s invitation and he felt like he hadn’t really sat down for days. “Stiles and Lydia were tortured. He’d been beaten pretty severely. Lydia was forced to watch then his memories got fuzzy. He doesn’t want to have those memories anymore. He’s pretty manic about it. Only I don’t know how to do that, and I don’t want to ask Peter.”
*** Gideon listened as he nodded his head for the moment. “Peter wouldn’t know how to do it either. Only a selected few had the ability to do so, Talia and myself were among the few.” He informed as he came to take two cups and pour that tea for Scott. “Drink, you need your energy.” Is all he said as he looked at Scott for the moment. “You’re still new to being an alpha, so I wouldn’t suggest doing it yourself.”
He said as he came to exhale deeply. “I can offer help with that. But I need to know the exact date and time. How much of this memory does Stiles wants removed.” He said as he took his own sip of tea. For the moment, he was glade Moira wasn’t here, since he wasn’t sure how she would feel with the topic since she was barely getting her memories back
***
Scott was used to eating or drinking something to keep him going in a crisis. Deaton knew a lot about these things, and Scott trusted Gideon as much as he had the druid so he took the tea without question.
What Gideon told him was something of a disappointment. He wasn’t sure Stiles would let anyone but Scott touch him. “I can give you all of those details, and he wants it all gone.”
*** Gideon nodded his head.”If I remove the entire memory, he is going to have a black out of that time frame. He’ll know something is missing.” Gideon thought for a moment. “I’ll do it, but he has to give me the permission to do it and it has to be in private.” He stated as he drank the tea for the moment.
“What about the banshee--Lydia.” He said correcting himself as he came to look at Scott once more. “HAs she shown interest in doing this as well?” He asked as he brought his hand through his hair before taking another sip of that tea.
**
“Yeah,” Scott said. “I get that. And honestly, I’d want him to give permission if it isn’t me doing it.” It was entirely possible Stiles would say no. “I’ll see if I can arrange a meeting so you can explain everything to him.”
Mention of Lydia had Scott shaking his head again. He sighed as he raked his fingers back through his hair which looked like he’d been doing that a lot recently. “I don’t know. I haven’t talked to her much. Between Stiles and Cora I haven’t really made it out of the house.”
*** With the mention of Cora, Gideon arched a brow. “What about Cora?” He asked as he sipped at the drink. But he thought once more. “When is the last time you spoken with her? Lydia, that is?” He asked as he came to place that now empty cup in the sink as he watched the young Alpha. Already crossing his arms over his broad chest for the moment.
***
“Uh…” Shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Scott, among all of this, had forgotten that Cora was Gideon’s daughter. “Stiles doesn’t want to be touched and he isn’t sleeping much so Cora’s been upset. She feels a bit helpless.” There. That had the benefit of being the truth and kept certain details out. Scott might live.
Going back to Lydia was a safer conversation. “Not since we got her back.” He was stretched a little thin, and hadn’t been sleeping much himself for as see through as he seemed.
*** When he explained what was going on with Cora he nodded his head. “The thing with Cora is that she acts like she is tough, when in reality she just wants to be wanted. Which can be either a good thing or a bad thing.” He said as he came to think for the moment. “I”ll stop by the house tomorrow and speak with Stiles.” he assured Scott. “You should check on Lydia. As for Cora. She’ll have to learn to handle things her own way, since your duty as Alpha is to the members who were attacked first and foremost. If you’d like, I can have her stay here while the others get well.” he offered.
***
Now Scott felt guilty for not checking in on Lydia. Maybe one day he’d get this whole Alpha thing right. He nodded as he looked into his tea. “I’ll let Stiles know you’re coming so he’s not surprised.” Gideon might not take it as well as Scott to Stiles knee jerk reaction to being surprised.
*** Gideon came to notice Scott’s face as he reached over and patted the young Alphas shoulder with a firm grip. “It’ll get easier, Son.” He said as he pulled away. But not before ruffling Scott’s hair to make the young boy smirk.
“Just remember, as an Alpha you have to also take care of yourself. So.” He said as he came around the counter and motioned Scott to follow him. “Rest in the guest bedroom and I’ll wake you in an hour. You need to be in the right headspace to deal with this, and you’re lack of sleep won’t help any of your members.
---
The hair thing was enough to make Scott jerk his head some with a lopsided if tired smirk coming to his face. He wasn’t close to his own dad, who was actually kind of a prick. Gideon calling him “son” felt...right.
“Yeah, I know,” he admitted. It had just been kind of hard to sleep at home. “Sounds good.” Scott downed the tea then stood up, but paused before he moved further. “And let Cora stay at our place. She and Stiles both will feel better about it.”
*** Gideon came to nod his head. “Alright then.” Is all he said on the matter of Cora. But he would pat Scott on the back once more as he let the young Alpha go rest, while he texted Moira to let her know what was happening.
